Bhutan

Bhutan is a small landlocked country in South Asia. It shares a border with India on three sides and China on the north side.

Bhutan only opened its border for foreigners from 1974. It was an unknown kingdom for outsiders till then. The country’s landscape ranges from lush tropical plains in the south to the Himalaya mountains in the north. Bhutan offers you beauty, history, and adventure.

Bhutan is also known as the land of ‘Thunder Dragon’. Gross National Happiness is a concept pioneered by Bhutan. You can see Buddhist influence all over Bhutan. People are generous here.

Bhutan has five distinct seasons: Summer, Monsoon, Autumn, winter, and spring. Bhutan is rich in wildlife diversity. It has a constitutional obligation to maintain at least 60% of its land under forest area. It is a very environment-conscious country.

Major tourist attraction includes; Paro Taktsang known as Tigers Nest, Punakha Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, Tashichho Dzong, Gangteng Monastery, National Museum of Bhutan, Kichu Lhakang, Phobjikha Valley, Chimi Lakhang and many more.

Bhutan is still a closed country for outsiders. There are various legal permits, which are essential for the Bhutan tour. Individual travelers are not allowed to enter Bhutan. It means you must book the tour through the authorized travel company by Tourism Council of Bhutan.
